Artigal's teching methodology

ARTIGAL'S TEACHING METHODOLOGY This year we have set a new methodology for Infant School. It is based on storytelling, and it uses completely meaningful and natural language to teach. The learner needs to take part and the lesson becomes a very amusing experience. Here we have a video of a teacher from Figueres. She is telling the story of The Balloon. Let's see if we can soon add a video from our school! Watch it and enjoy it!

The Balloon

THE BALLOON This has been the first story we have been working on in Infant School (4 and 5 years old learners). The story is simple and they liked it a lot. We worked on it for more than two months, we did role-play activities, we sang the song, we drew many pictures about the story... and at the end of the unit, the young learners told the story to the oldest learners of the school. It was a great experience! They enjoyed! Here you have the story of "The Balloon" (recorded by me). I am sure the learners tell it better, but just in case you want to listen to it again... enjoy it!

Happy Christmas holidays!

(This image has been taken from Google Images). Holidays are already there! We are going to meet our family, eat really delicious food and enjoy our Christmas presents for sure! What is your plan for these Christmas holidays?

I am going to tell you mine. As the doctor told me to rest (as I am pregnant), we are not going to carry out any tiring plan. Just enjoy resting, singing and spending time with my family. We will celebrate Olentzero's night, Christmas Day, Christmas Eve, New Year,... There are a lot of special dates at Christmas. The weather will probably be cold and rainy, or, who knows, maybe snowy, but the atmosphere at home will be warm and calm. I hope so! Moreover, I will use my free time to read and prepare my English lessons for January.

And what about you? What is your plan? Are you going somewhere or just staying in your town? Are you going to read, do your homework...? Tell us your ideas, plans and desires! And, of course, tell us about your Christmas presents!!

Have nice Christmas holidays! Enjoy them and see you back in January! A big hug for everyone!

Introduction

(This image has been taken from Google Images). This is our new English blog for every member of the school of Elgeta, this little town located in the west of Gipuzkoa. Learners, teachers and parents can be part of it, and we all hope it will be an interesting tool for every learner who wants to practise English at home or wherever he or she is.

It will be useful to present our reflections about our learning process, to give our opinions and experiences about special dates sucha as Christmas, Easter Holidays, Carnivals, Halloween, Saint Valentine's Day,... and to work on different grammar or vocabulary content that we are learning at school.

Let's make a useful tool of it! Take part and share your opinions! And remember, all together we can! ALL TOGETHER WE LEARN!

What can we do? Let's read!

(This image has been taken from Google Images). Winter is a great season to stay at home, drink hot chocolate and read. Reading is travelling in a new world, discovering new people, new places, new animals... This Christmas Time, learners on the 3rd year are reading "Endangered animals. A safari adventure". Who doesn't like animals? Haven't you ever dreamt about a safari in Africa? Lions, elephants, crocodiles... Let's read the book, I am sure we are going to enjoy it. This blog can be a great tool to mention any opinion or reflection on the book.

Learners on the 4th year are reading "Lights, camera, action! On location". A different topic, but not less interesting. Don't you think recording a film or a spot must be an amazing adventure? Let's learn about cameras, lights, ... And let us know!

The rest of the people at school, take a comic, a book, a magazine,...whatever... and enjoy it!

Reflect on your lessons...

(This image has been taken from Google Images). Refecting is a nice activity for your brain: What did we do in class today? Did I learn today? Did I enjoy the lesson? Was the activity difficult or easy?...
It is more than a month since the doctor told me to stay at home and not to go to work, so it is hard for me to make a reflection on our lessons. But I am sure that they are being as interesting as always! Write on the blog and tell me about it! I am willing to know about you!

We all know that Santa’s coming,
We all know that Santa’s coming,
We all know that Santa’s coming,
And soon will be here.

SILENT NIGHT

Silent night, Holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round young virgin , mother and child
Holy infant so, tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, Holy night
Shepherds quake, at the sight
Glorious streams from heaven above
Heavenly hosts sings Hallelujah.
Christ the savior is born,
Christ the savior is born.

Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
